Port St. Lucie is growing quickly — and growth brings real challenges. As your City Council candidate, I’m focused on practical solutions that protect residents, improve daily life, and keep our city on the right track. Here are my top five priorities — and how I’ll approach them.
Smarter Traffic Management: Real Solutions, Real Accountability
Traffic isn’t theoretical in Port St. Lucie — it’s part of daily life. My focus is simple: visible improvements and measurable accountability.
Fix the worst intersections first
Re-time signals at major congestion points, extend turn lanes where backups are constant, and publish a public “Top 10 Fix List” with clear deadlines.
Make growth pay for road impacts
Require development to meet road-capacity standards, prioritize infrastructure before occupancy, and review impact fees in high-congestion areas so residents aren’t left covering the cost.
Require monthly public traffic project updates
Post clear monthly progress reports for major traffic projects, including status, timelines, and whether they are on schedule. Residents deserve transparency — not vague promises.
Manage Growth + Community Design
Growth should work for the people who already live here. Smart planning protects neighborhoods, preserves green space, and keeps infrastructure from falling behind.
Enforce strong development standards
Require new projects to fit our city’s character, protect open space, and match infrastructure capacity.
Build infrastructure before approving growth
Ensure roads, drainage, and essential services are in place before new development moves forward — not after.
Protect established neighborhoods
Strengthen resident input in planning decisions and defend the character of existing communities.
Keeping Port St. Lucie Affordable
Rising property taxes, insurance, and utility costs are squeezing families and retirees. We must protect residents from being priced out of the community they built.
Hold the line on city spending
Demand responsible budgeting and full transparency in how tax dollars are used.
Push back on rising insurance and utility costs
Work with state and regional partners to address rate increases that are straining households.
Protect homeowners and renters
Support policies that promote housing stability and prevent unnecessary tax burdens.
A Local Economy with Character
Our economy should create opportunity here at home — not force residents to commute elsewhere for good jobs.
Use Our Growth as Leverage
Port St. Lucie is the fastest-growing city in Florida. Kevin believes we should use that demand to attract unique, locally rooted businesses that bring character to our city—not just stacking franchise on top of franchise.
Focus on Career-Path Employers
We must prioritize companies that bring strong wages and long-term career stability to Port St. Lucie—not just temporary positions—so more residents can work where they live.
Strengthen the Local Talent Pipeline
Kevin believes the city should be a bridge between opportunity and residents by strengthening partnerships with schools, colleges, and local organizations to prepare our workforce for the high-demand careers of tomorrow.
Quality of Life Isn’t Optional
Safe parks, clean neighborhoods, and strong community programs aren’t luxuries — they’re the foundation of a great city.
